After over four years of hard work and nearly £40K on plans and surveys, Orpington FC will be submitting a second set of plans for its proposed OFC Community Pavilion to benefit both the football club and other community groups and users in Goddington Park.
Please support this planning application by posting a positive comment once it's on the planning portal.
Our current Pavilion, despite nearly ten years of the Club's best efforts to refurbish and improve, is beyond economic repair and do not meet many of the needs of our 600+ player Club. The current Pavilion does not support the health and safety, safeguarding, training or community needs for our Club.
Nor does it meet the needs of the many other users of Goddington Park. In our 2020 community consultation of over 650 people, of which ove300 were nearby residents and park users outside OFC, 92% thought they needed a Pavilion re-build. Many other park users also want a clean facility with accessible toilets, community meeting and fitness spaces, cafe with seating and a water fountain for their dogs and children to help them enjoy their time in Goddington Park.
OFC needs letters of support to demonstrate to planners the benefit that the new Goddington Park Community Pavilion will bring. If any local community groups, charities, fitness instructors, training providers or local people would be interested in using the new Pavilion, please write a letter in support of the application and send to juliebergner1@gmail.com.
