Would You Like to be A Young Leader?

OFC Young Leaders (YLs) is a program of training, work experience and feedback to help our players, former players and other young people related to the Club develop the life and employment skills they need to be successful beyond Orpington FC.

What do you need to join? A willingness to work with a positive attitude to develop your coaching skills to deliver fun football sessions to the youngest players at OFC through our Academy (4-6yo boys), Wildcats (4-10 yo girls) and SEN Stallions (7-14 yo young people with SEN who are able to move freely on grass pitches) on a Saturday 10-11 am in Goddington Park. The weekly sessions involve setting up and taking town the equipment, planning drills, welcoming new players, positive encouragement of players, running warm-ups, ensuring all children are participating, enjoying and progressing with their football skills.

Anyone who wants to be a YLs starts by completion their FA Safeguarding Children and Playmaker courses, which are on-line and easily accessible through their FAN (Football Association Number). Once these courses are completed the YLs can join our group of coaches on a Saturday morning delivering fun football.

YLs receive feedback on their performance so they can reflect and improve their delivery. They can progress to obtain their FA Intro to Coaching or Referee Qualification paid for by the Club. Through this program, they have work experience and references to include on their CV to help them into the world of work beyond OFC.

We have had 22 Young Leaders since the 21-22 season participate int eh programm. If you are interested, please contact Julie on 07900495305.
